Due to scheduled maintenance of SURFsara’s EPIC PID service, the service functionality will be partially unavailable or have reduced performance during these operations. The maintenance is done in order to:
– update the operating system of the nodes
– replace the host certificates of the machines. They will expire in December. The old certificates are signed by the CA (Certificate Authority): TERENA SSL CA 2. The new certificates are signed by the CA: TERENA SSL CA 3.
When
The maintenance will take place during two short periods:
– On Wednesday 1 November between 9:00 and 11:00 CET, the epic3 node will be taken offline
– On Wednesday 1 November between 14:00 and 16:00 CET, the epic4 node will be taken offline
Impact
Depending on the node taken offline, during the corresponding hours registration of new handles will not be possible for given prefixes. During maintenance, resolving of all handles is possible, but might require several attempts in order to complete successfully.
Actions to be done by users!
As this is a new CA, it needs to be part of your system in order for the minting of handles to work properly. Please add the enclosed CA certificate to your chain or path.
